This is damning in it’s simplicity, no twisted theories needed, no way to justify pulling patrols that were always there. There’s a small military base down the road from my hood, in zero danger of attack. Can you imagine any reason they would order the gate guards to just not show up?!

Said from the beginning, I refuse to believe that Israel’s famed intelligence apparatus failed to root out an attack of this magnitude. No way, they’re world class and thwarting an attack like this is their very raison d’être.

Not to mention that if it was really about stopping Hamas, they could just keep assassinating the leadership until there’s no one left who wants to risk it.

When Israel “assasinates” a “high value target” usually dozens if not hundreds of people are murdered alongside. Heck they have an AI tool to make sure that targets are hit when they are home with their family to maximize the casualties.

If you are Palestinian, Israel will probably try to kill or abduct and torture you. So people rather die fighting.

It’s not that easy. Hamas leadership goes to great lengths to protect themselves from Israeli assassinations. Yehia Sinwar for example didn’t use a smartphone for this very reason. It’s also harder for people to “not risk it” when they’re denied the right to even hope for a better future.

They were successfully hunting down Nazis multiple continents away before smart phones were a thing. I think they could have figured it out if they wanted to.

          This was always about genocide.

Obviously this was always about genocide; I’m not disputing that. My point is that the Palestinian resistance evolved under and against the backdrop of Israeli intelligence, so they’re not exactly sitting ducks for the IDF to assassinate.

If they wanted to stop hamas they would end the occupation in the west bank and make comittement to end occupation in gaza first showing willingness for peace then they would talk with the western countries to arms the PA and let them finish hamas.
