It seems like it has been subject to many long term negative effects over the past decade or so.

German liberal nationalism is a sham for different reasons, but also neoliberalism destroyed the economic social contract.

Why should i die, so old people can sit in their large houses unaffordable to me, despite my better qualification, while they also destroy the environment and proudly fuel climate change with their big cars and cruise travels? Of course there is also plenty of old people who barely get by. But those dont demand the young people to sacrifice themselves in the reactionary “liberal” media.

At the same time Germany does have access to higher education without going through the military if you aren’t affluent. So forcing the poor into the military as the only option to escape poverty is not as severe like in the US.

Obst enthält auch natürlicherweise Ethanol. Eine reife Banane oder ein reifer Apfel haben mehr Ethanol als alkohol"freies" Bier. Soll man jetzt auf Obst verzichten? Natürlich nicht. Es braucht eine Metrik, mit der man die Vorteile z.B. Vitamine bei Obst mit den Nachteilen, Zucker, Alkohol, abwägen kann.

Das ist bei Ethanol speziell anders, als zum Beispiel beim Tabakrauchen, weil man natürlicherweise keinen Tabakrauch auf anderen Wegen inhaliert. Wobei Auberginen, Tomaten und andere Gemüsesorten auch Nikotin enthalten. Deswegen wird aber trotzdem nicht vor dem Essen von Tomaten gewarnt.

Das war auch mein erster Gedanke. Die Autoindustrie hat sich selbst durch zuviel Lobbyeinfluss und subventionierte hohe Gewinne ins Abseits bewegt. Jetzt fällt das ganze auseinander, weil sie technisch um Jahre hinterherhinken.

“gesundheitlich unbedenklich” ist auch ein sehr enges Kriterium. Du kannst auch nirgendwo in Deutschland ungefilterte Luft atmen, ohne dabei mehr als eine “gesundheitlich unbedenkliche” Menge an Stickoxiden und Feinstaubpartikeln einzuatmen.

Die USA sollten dafür Territorium abgeben. Mindestens sollten Truppenstützpunkte für eine dauerhafte EU Militärpräsenz geschaffen werden.

Dann würden sich die USA das mit der Invasion Dänemarks noch mal überlegen. Werden sie natürlich nicht machen, aber daran wird noch mal deutlich, dass ihre Truppen in Europa nicht nur zum Schutz der Länder stationiert sind.

Es geht darum, dass jemand Verwendung dafür hat. Manchmal glaubt man, es gäbe keine Verwendung mehr für Sachen, weil man nur seine eigene Perspektive kennt.

Aside from the obvious fact that you should ne there for your partner and child, paternity leave is both economically sound for your employer and the economy as a whole.

It will mean a healthier child with better relationships to his parents. This will improve his/her performance in school, reduce the likelyhood of problematic behaviour requiring interventions and later the likelyhood of criminal activity.

So your child will likely be a more productive and reliable grown up eventually and you will have less stress as parents, which also improves your productivity.

Depends what “ban” means. If it refers to them not being able to be commercially active in the EU because they violate EU regulations, sure. So no selling ads, no targeting ads, no selling blue check-marks.

If it refers to preventing people from the EU to access their website through meddling with DNS or similar means, then i am against it. We should be able to access it, but they shouldnt be able to make money off it in the EU.

Also i find “Europeaness” a bit sketchy, if things are developed globally. We should embrace global cooperation rather than mimicking US nationalism with a new “European” nationalism.

I had a discussion the other day, where people were not happy with lemmy instances not handing data over to google. They argument was that we should do everything so lemmy can be found more easily, as the only goal is to “win” against reddit.

Unfortunately in that discussion people were not interested in using Lemmy and the Fediverse at large to create a positive vision of the internet. They just wanted to stick it to one corporation they don’t like. I don’t like reddit either, but i think we should thrive for a Fediverse that upholds decentralization, open source and non commercialization of social interactions. All the large Internet corporations want to create the opposite and have been quite successful so far.
