There’s just something so nice about prerendered games, they look so crisp and just pop on the screen

I wasn’t familiar with the books, sorry. I was just referring to the movie where I don’t remember any mechanized space suits but guess that’s just a budget issue
It actually happened because Paul verhoeven wrote a script that only got attached to the novel when someone else noticed the similarities. Paul never actually read it lol
In the novel they very much are small teams of individual warfighters in high-tech mech suits that can leap 100 yards at a time and fire tactical nukes. They also actually have strategy and stuff. The human wave warfare in the movies doesn’t fit in with the message of the novel at all. I’d actually recommend reading the novel, its pretty interesting even tho its politics are bad.
