Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT, 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

IWNDWYT! It’s strange. I live directly opposite the pub I used to spend every night in. When I stopped drinking in April, I tried to keep up with socialising. I did it for a while but it felt like I was just spending money for the sake of it (also drank my way into a sizeable debt so need to save as much as possible really). Eventually, I began to isolate myself a bit, just dealing with the things we all deal with. I was difficult to get ahold of for probably two weeks, maybe three… And nobody really tried anyway.

And now? Nothing. They don’t reply to me reaching out. Probably a dozen people, just gone like that. No arguments, no fallings out, just poof. I still see and hear them out the front of the pub late at night, drinking and smoking, but nothing.

All my blinds on the front of the flat have been closed for about a month. Today is the first day I’ve fully opened them, and I’m just feeling a bit weird I guess.

Sorry, bit of a dump. It’s just strange, how friends turn out to be drinking buddies. Makes it hard to trust anybody is authentic, yknow?

Anyway, I feel like I’m finally getting to some core things I actually enjoy!! It’s been 115 or so days, and I’m thinking about selling my PS5 and TV, getting rid of my sofa, and using my lounge more for music, reading, and miniature painting!
