I saw a video on YouTube that people on the stopdrinking subreddit were talking about. Kurzgesagt’s Alcohol video and now I’m fucking terrified. I already suffer from health anxiety and that video sent me over the edge.
I’m a 38 year old male and I’ve been binge drinking on weekends for about 20 years. I’m terrified that I’ve done irreparable damage to me my body. I’ve had liver enzymes tested and they were slightly above normal, nothing too crazy. I actually stopped drinking for a month once and they were normal. However, I’m still freaking out.

I usually take about 40 minutes to do the weight lifting portion. About 60 minutes all said and done. It’s not too intense, as 35 lbs each is pretty light for me. I’m overweight now, but when I was younger I was a real athlete. I want to get back to being that way.
What I settled on was in a similar vein - 3x a week full body workouts. But it’s barbell based, focusing on compound lifts as they’re the biggest bang for your buck, and then a couple of accessories with dumbbells, takes about an hour. And there’s built-in progression so it’s always grinding upwards. I started out at about 175lbs bodyweight at 25% body fat, couple years later I’m at 210lbs and around 16% body fat. Never felt better.
To track everything I use the boostcamp app, its free and loaded with a bunch of programs. The ones I’m talking about are 531 and tactical barbell
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it.
