minus-squareNotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up5·2 months agoHow big of a cup are you using?
minus-squareNikls94@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·2 months agoA regular US cup. 21572 calories is 21.5 kcal and sugar is 3870 calories per gram, or 387 kcal per 100 grams. The KILO literally means THOUSAND.
minus-squarecalcopiritus@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 months agoYes. Kilo means thousand. However in some contexts, a single calorie is the same as a kilocalorie. Don’t ask me why. There are 2 calories, the small one and the big one. And the big one is exactly the same as a thousand of the small ones.
minus-squaredrkt@scribe.disroot.orglinkfedilinkarrow-up10·2 months agoAmericans mean kilo calories when they spell Calories with a capital C, otherwise it’s normal calories. Yes it’s dumb.
