House Republicans authorized a new rule to prevent Democrats from probing the Trump administrationā€™s scandals until October.

Amid mounting scandals out of the Trump administration, House Republicans voted Tuesday inĀ favor of a rule that creates hurdles for DemocratsĀ looking to investigate it.

Departments across Trumpā€™s government have been rocked by scandals over a variety of issues:Ā Elon Muskā€™s glaring conflicts of interestĀ while gutting the federal government,Ā Cabinet officialsā€™discussing sensitive military plansĀ with civilians via a third-party messaging platform or members of Congress benefiting as the White HouseĀ turned tariffs on and off.

Democrats have tried to shine light on these and other scandals using what are called ā€œresolutions of inquiry,ā€ which can tee up what are essentially special votes over whether to provide information from the president or executive officials.

    This constant barrage, I canā€™t keep up anymore. But itā€™s the slightly-boring-sounding ones like this one that are the most dangerous imo. Dismantling checks and balances (whatever was left of that). Making sure ā€œyouā€™ll never have to vote anymoreā€.

      Remember that people voted for Trump after he said this and call themselves patriots and other people knew this could be a consequence and still told us both sides are the same.
