If this deal proves durable, then it’s an unqualified win for Yemen and the Houthis. The blockade of Israel-related shipping continues, and the US will back down on its attempt to stop them.

I think it’s more likely that this is what it says on the tin. We know that the US was losing extremely expensive equipment for very little payoff. They’re cutting their losses.
