    A congestion charge would be a more significant step without requiring large build-out.

    Longer term, we need more public and active transport options. Every major road should have a dedicated bike path on both sides of it, with priority through most intersections. Buses should be planned to work with the train network, not in direct competition to it. And we need more strong trunk routes. A Chermside “metro”, the NWTC heavy rail, etc.

    But more T3 lanes wouldn’t be too bad. Gympie Rd currently has 4 lanes each way for some of its length. 1 of those is a peak-hour bus lane. That should be changed to 24/7 bus lane, plus a peak-hour T3 lane, and then 2 lanes for everyone else. This would be so easy to do.

      FFS Zag. The obvious answer is faster cars all round.

      No speed limits, get there faster, clear the jams faster.
