Humans just recently in the anthropological history started using money, before we just did favors to each other and expected favors back in return. Most times the return of favors were forgiven because the community relied on each other . Money and property started happening after the agricultural “revolution” and people just started accumulating food and livestock.

I can believe the west sabotaging it. We do see that constantly with the US, installing puppet governments and so on.
