My adopted orange gets himself into a similar pickle. Turns out the poor little baby has arthritis. And maybe more. Still awaiting all his blood test results…
Make him a ramp, or something. My cat trees have all sorts of added boards connecting to book cases and built in cupboards, and limit how high he has to jump It’s not pretty, but I don’t care. It widens his world and gives him places to retreat to in peace.

There is a ramp, or something. It just happens to be on the other side.
The problem here is clearly neurological (i.e., it’s some other orange cat’s turn with the neuron).
