I think you can be friends with an ex again, but it really depends on the circumstances and I think some time needs to pass where you need to not see each other before you can attempt to build a friendship.

This was my experience, yeah. It’s possible but one should be totally disconnected for a time first.

This really depends. Were you friends before? Then cool, get back to it, if you aren’t going to be pining after them.
It does not matter why she really broke up with you, it only matters if you can, well, friend-zone her as well. If YOU think also that y’all are better off as friends. It has to be mutual or you may feel heartbroken.
Been down this road, have to go no contact, she will sabotage your future relationships.
