    My understanding is, blurring backgrounds helps whatever’s in front stand out, because it reduces the visual noise around it. I don’t use it either but it can look nice if used well

      So does adding a black but transparent backdrop. e.g. rgba(0,0,0,0.7)

      I’m glad people who like blur have an addon for it.

        No, not really in the same way. Blurring turns high frequency noise into medium frequency noise, overlaying a solid color just dims the high frequency noise. Both are certainly helpful but they don’t have the same effect
