CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Bears seem to have shifted their attention for a new enclosed stadium back to the suburbs from the city’s lakefront, citing “significant progress” with local leaders to build on a tract of land they own in Arlington Heights.
“Over the last few months, we have made significant progress with the leaders in Arlington Heights, and look forward to continuing to work with state and local leaders on making a transformative economic development project for the region a reality,” the team said in a statement on Friday.
Sucks to leave Soldier Field, but sucks more to make the citizens pay for for the stadium when the owners are already billionaires.
Vote it down like we did here in Kansas City.
Or fund the public portion with legal gambling like we did in Minnesota 😂😑😓
I mean, it sounds good in theory, but in the end that’s still (basically) a tax on the poor.

Perhaps the Bears should worry about building a winning franchise before they focus on fleecing the taxpayers for a new stadium.
There is a bill in the IL house that seeks to require a team to have a winning season in 3 of the past 5 years to be eligible for government financing.
Just renovate Soldier Field! Green Bay can do it, why the fuck can’t you bums to the south?
The mayor or someone did propose a renovation, but it wasn’t very well received. The biggest problem is there’s not much room to work with as the stadium is wedged between the lake and Lakeshore drive.
I don’t follow sports and this headline confused the shit out of me until I saw the community
