Yes and no. Socialism allows for the wheel of social progress to turn more rapidly, but it isn’t an instant win button. Cuba was socially reactionary for decades before learning from their mistakes and eventually creating one of the world’s most progressive family codes. That being said, it makes just as little sense for a communist to be anti-queer as it does for a queer person to be anti-communist. I recommend reading The Problem of Recognition in Transitional States, Or Sympathy for the Monster.
