A spoofed email address and an easily faked document is all it takes for major tech companies to hand over your most personal information.

    Honestly, people thinking Google will protect them because it only sells your personal data to advertisers… what ever stopped them from selling it to law enforcement as well? (See also, Meta, Microsoft, and others.)

      They’re not exactly selling it rather than complying with law enforcement requests, which I think most people expect.

        I expect them to comply with a warrant verified (and potentially challenged on merit) by their overpriced legal team. I don’t expect them to just hand it over to anyone who calls themselves “officer”.
