I really do love short eared owl season! It’s cold, but worth it! I was out for 13 hours on Thursday and took over 10,000 photos. Here’s a small sample of a few favorites.

10,000 photos taken in 13 hours?! That averages out to almost 13 photos a minute. I am skeptical. Great job on the photos though, they look amazing!
I don’t make the claims, I just report em!
Sometimes they hunt together, other times birds like harriers come to try to snatch the owls’ catch, so there could have been a ton to shoot.
Either way, we get some stunning Short Ears!
There were multiple photographers? That would explain the high number of photos taken.
I meant possible multiple owls, as Short Ears hunt in the open sometimes there’s enough room they don’t mind. And other times they will just try to steal each others’ prizes.
Though owl photographers do tend to flock together also.
