The fish in the tank looks like a typical dwarf puffer, but the one in the photo looks like a totally different fish.
e: I’ve not been able to identify the fish on the sign, but our little cutie seems more likely to be an eyespot or mbu puffer. Here is a fun photo I found along the way:

Do you have any snails on your phone?
Aren’t pufferfish supposed to have a noticable personality compared to most other fish? I feel like I read somewhere they can be sociable and even playful.
A fish store near me had a big puffer in a big tank in the middle of the store. They would hand feed it, and if he put his hand in the water, it would position itself to get his tummy scratched. He was the owner’s personal.pet, and wasn’t for sale.
One day, the owner was in the back, and he heard the bell at the front door ring twice in quick succession, as someone came in, and quickly left. When he came back up front, the puffer was missing. Someone had stolen him, and he was never found.
This bums me out so hard. Why do people have to be such pieces of shit?
When Scuba diving if your pretty relaxed and chill Porcupine Pufferfish will come up and vibe out with their goofy smile

My experience with puffers puts their personality in the realm of “What’s this? Will it be easy to kill?” At which point if the answer is no, they lose interest lol
In my limited experience it’s mostly territorial/independent fish who are confident and curious about things, whereas schooling fish have a single flake of detritus for a brain, focused entirely on being part of the group and eating as quickly as possible. There are lots of very charismatic fish out there.
Some of the larger ones are fairly intelligent (well, for a fish), and certainly social and playful like you said! We have a 40gal-ish tank with a few Pea Puffers and while they aren’t nearly as smart as some of the bigger puffers, they are curious little buggers. I love em!
photos please!!

The tank’s a bit messy right now but here’s one of the goobers.
wooooah that’s so pretty!!
How young children play Hide and Seek
I did a quest in a game yesterday where a kid was like “My toy horse is missing!” “I’ll go find it” “You can’t, because you don’t know it’s hiding in the wood pile!”
(Game was Medieval Dynasty, a survival/city builder sim)
