“Firstly, to have more interaction between companions - not just with more and better banter, but to have them develop deeper relationships with each other, just as they do with players,” he wrote. “Secondly, to ramp up player friendship and romance more subtly, so relationship building feels natural.”

Let’s fucking hope so, because the absolute inanity of this whole thing is one of the game’s biggest faults. For a game that has somehow been praised for its writing a whole lot it’s kind of absurd that something like this needs to be addressed and clarified.

I fell off BG3 because of a terribly buggy experience, and haven’t been back yet since the many patches. However, aside from that, this is definitely something that was putting me off from the game as well. I didn’t even get out of the first map yet and already had multiple NPCs that wanted to jump into my pants or declare their undying love for me. It created this weird disconnect for me where I felt like I hadn’t traveled very far in the world physically, but had temporally, yet that latter feeling clashed with other quest progress. Just really hurt my immersion overall.
