TLDR: Lies of P Two Dragons Sword (and other “weapons”/ combat mechanics) in Elden Ring.

I’m not a pc gamer so I usually don’t pay close attention to mods but recently this Elden Ring mod came to my attention, (sword heart shura) and I though it may interest some of you guys.

https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/7764

Caught my eye 'cause amongst other movesets it adds the superb two dragons sword of Lies of P, and mechanics like perfect deflects.

Not my soulsbornes (outside of fucking about with Cheat Engine to take fun screenshots), which is… perhaps odd, as I really enjoy modding games in general. My Assetto Corsa install is more mods than not mods. I make my own mods for Paradox games

You make your own mods? Woah, That’s super cool! I always admire when people go to those lenghts to get their desired experience.

Of course, I’d only touch mods after getting the raw experience. (Elden ring is the one I’d like to mod) others I’m not sure I’d touch them so I get the -no need to mess with it- sentiment.

Thanks! I’m not especially good at it - my coding skills are basically that I am decent at bodging, rearranging, and tweaking stuff rather than actually knowing any programming languages - but I enjoy the craft of it. I have been trying to learn Blender enough to be able to make racing sim tracks, but that’s on hold while I update stuff for a long-running strategy game campaign with some friends

What would you make for Elden Ring, assuming time and knowledge were no issue? Re-implementing the cut Kalé quest would probably be what I’d go for if I were to do it

Ooh yeah…FS dropped the ball so hard favoring Hyetta’s quest over Kalé’s :c. At least there’s that video that restored it, but modding it into the game must not be an easy feat, I don’t think anyone has done it.

I’d love to be able to edit fights, maybe “create” bosses and such, (for my own amusement of course.) more realistically, create or modify some sorceries/ incantations, create areas or something like that. :P

Good luck in your 3d journey!

Absolutely, Elden Ring has a lot of fantastic overhaul mod. Everyone has to try Convergence at some point.

I was especially surprised by the catacombs! I only tried a few, but they were all very unique and far more interesting than in the base game.

Read about it and it looks super interesting, almost like a fresh experience in many ways, I’d love to try it.

I have only ever modded Dark Souls 3 and that mod was just the Blue Sentinel anti-cheat mod. Which worked way better than EAC does for Elden Ring. I can’t recall ever encountering a cheater once I installed BS, where as I am seriously considering installing Seamless Co-op just because tons of users report not only better netplay, but also a higher FPS just by virtue of disabling EAC.

I dont even know what EAC could be stopping with ER. It’s an off-the-shelf commercial anti-cheat that is mostly gojna stop standard cheats in FPS games; none of which would be super useful in Elden Ring except maybe wallhacks. I’m not confident Fromsoft even configured the thing correctly vs just slapping it in the game as-is. The number of times I encounter players I literally can not deal damage to even while they stand in place taunting with gestures is way too fucking high.

That said: If there is a mod that adds chain weapons like the dragon dudes in DS3 have or give the chain attack on the Duelist’s axes the way the NPC enemy has, I’d totally install that. The only soulslike I have seen with such awesome weapons the player can use is Nioh, and that is the best thing I thought about Nioh (it also has a kick ass action set/spell system but the Ki system is brutal and awkward).

Anticheat, of course there are people who’d make that a necessity. Didn’t even ocur to me at first, but I don’t fuck with pvp.

There was a second one for X360, came out in 2008. It got a remaster last year called Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Even though it’s not a perfect recreation of the X360 version it looks phenomenal and plays really well once you install the White mod. Or just play the original if you have an Xbox, the 360 version is a special kind of crazy and works great on Xbox backwards compatibility I’ve heard.

I’ve installed a couple of cosmetic mods for Elden Ring, just to bring in a couple of old favorite armor sets from the previous games.

I’m still just spending most of what would otherwise be my gaming time on TALKER Expanded, and my backlog is huge. As tempting as it is and as cool as those mods look, I don’t know that I can allow myself to replay games at this point in time 😅

    Not usually.

I tried a ds3 mod that was pretty okay. I can’t remember the name of it though.

    I tried a ds1 mod but didn’t like it. Didn’t get far.

I tried a randomizer for ER and didn’t like it at all. Was like “oh wow I found the black knife at the first church!” but then “the fire giant is really early”. Maybe if I just randomized items it would be better. L

Fromsoft definitely capitalized on the"randomizer" experience with nightreign. I think it’s very well implemented, have you had the chance to try it?

I haven’t. I wasn’t sure if it was good solo/with randos, and I was unemployed so I was being frugal.

I prefer solo but it’s tougher without knowing the final boss’ moveset. Randos it’s ok most of the time.

Absolutely. Two Dragons Sword is such an amazing weapon and worthy of an entire playthrough. Being able to play Elden Ring how I imagine it should be playable would probably increase my enjoyment of the game immensely
