David Dayen, journalist and executive editor of The American Prospect, joins me today to talk about: ICE, the government shutdown, and the Democratic party’s inability to address people’s needs
Dayen has been a contributing writer to Salon.com and The Intercept, a weekly columnist for The New Republic and The Fiscal Times and has also written for The New York Times, Vice, Naked Capitalism, In These Times and other outlets.[10][11] In 2019, he became the executive editor of The American Prospect.[3] In 2024, he and antitrust researcher Matt Stoller began the spin-off podcast Organized Money.[12]
Rs: Let’s buy a gun!
Ds: OK
Leftists: this is a terrible idea
Nazis: LOL
Rs: let’s load the gun!
Ds: OK
Leftists: this is a terrible idea
Nazis: LOL
Rs: let’s leave our loaded gun on the table!
Ds: OK
Leftists: this is a terrible idea
Nazis: LOL
Trump: starts firing randomly
Rs: LOL
Nazis: LOL
Leftists: this gun should not exist
Ds: please fire less randomly
I think being pro gun ownership is relatively common among leftists in general, at least that’s my lived experience. From Marx to the black panthers, I know there’s an SRA too.
But I agree with the sentiment. Rs / Nazis adore state-sanctioned murder, Ds are only concerned about state-sanctioned murder if it starts to look bad. And even then, they’re only concerned about the optics, not the murder.
