DHS is expanding its use of administrative subpoenas, which don’t come from judges.

Reddit, Meta, and Google voluntarily “complied with some of the requests” for identifying details of users critical of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sent as part of a recent wave of administrative subpoenas the Department of Homeland Security has been distributing to Big Tech the past few months, according to an anonymously sourced New York Times report.

    Never put your trust in any corporation! If they aren’t currently fucking you, just wait until they have one bad quarter. Then they will vacuum up everything of value to cover the difference. Every time.

      Everybody likes to bash on the tech companies–and they behave horribly–, but really that largely because they make such insane money right now. This has been a thing in other industries and still is. Look at Walmart. Tech is just the new big thing distracting from the capitalist system being the problem.
