Is this what suffices for marketing effort these days?
I haven’t not heard of this movie, but I didn’t know it was in theaters and I have no idea what it’s about or if it’s worth the price of a ticket.
So whatever they put into marketing, the result is “vaguely aware a movie exists.”
I saw adds for this. Nothing about it looked remotely original and sure as shit not dealing with going to the theater for a Chris Hemsworth product.
Sure, there seems to be way more than enough thrillers and horror movies, what is SORELY missing is DECENT BIG BUDGET COMEDY MOVIES, but they don’t seem to make them anymore.
Naked gun?
Yeah I though it was decent, it exceeded my expectations at least, but it’s a reboot. I guess comedy movies just don’t rake in enough money.
I really wanted to like it, but once you’ve seen the bit with the little girl [which was in the trailer] it goes downhill fast.
Gave up on it pretty quick.

Why?
Streaming is how movies are consumed now. Don’t fight it, lean into it.
Also what is the logic of releasing a thriller on Valentine’s Day Weekend.
I agree that streaming is fine but it’s probably a stigma from the “straight to DVD” days.
They probably make more money from theatrical release. Maybe it’s allowed be considered for some awards where otherwise streaming isn’t.
Fair enough!
Om nom nom
In our cinema on valentine’s we were deliberating between Crime 101 or Wuthering Heights, we ended up staying home.
sounds like you made the best choice!
Depends on what they did at home
We had seven adults at Christmas dinner. At one point someone asked if anyone wanted to catch a movie. Not one person was, and even the person who suggested it [me] was happy with the choice.
In the past, the same crowd happily saw ‘Jumanji’ and ‘Aquaman.’
This will pair well with the Melania doc.
