Not a big enough blow, but they will be slowed down until the next GenAI tool comes out with even less barriers to making nonconsensual porn.

Yeah, in practice it probably just means a lot more young men will have that much stronger an incentive to become familiar with the internet underground.

I think I’d actually be okay with that. Making it illegal to use the tool, with real penalties behind it, is probably the best we can hope for anyway, and giving people a popular reason to get familiar with the internet underground is probably a good thing from the standpoint of preparing them for the surveillance and propaganda hellscape that’s about to become reality for the US people.

Yeah, being familiar with the internet underground is a very real need; given, I do also worry about the manifestation of a super surveillance and propaganda nerve center pushing out some dangerous shit to the masses. However, I would prefer that motivating reason not be due to the strange and creepy desire to create nonconsensual porn (which I do hope is so curtailed by laws that they will struggle to get away with it in the future). However, like you said, it will likely be the inciting incident that will get young men (possibly women masquerading as men online) to get familiar with the underground internet movement.

I’m sure there are people that would love to be used as models for porn, consensual porn is honestly the hottest shit out there.

Yeah. It would be better if young male people grew up in an environment with strong challenge and virtuous excitement, strong moral fiber, honest and healthy sexual opportunities, loving family, and all the things that make wanting to make fake naked pictures of your classmates seem like a super cool and not weird and creepy activity to engage in. Unfortunately I think it will take more than legislation and technology to make that part happen.

LOL, I just want porn to be a bit more openly talked about, not reviled like it is in the West at the moment. Proper reforms and safeguards that make it so that actors aren’t reduced to a body part that does the filling or gets filled. I want humanization to be a prevalent part of such scenes, while keeping the spicy bits alive and well. I do also want consent to be a respected and observed practice, so that taking pictures of classmates and making them nude is a shameful thing. Likewise, I do agree that more legislation targeting the generation of nonconsensual porn and other potentially harmful deepfakes needs to be addressed formally. As a post truth reality is an ever looming threat with GenAI tools getting better at creating fake images and videos.

Young people shouldn’t be growing up in a state of absolute disaster funded by the ultrarich and morally bankrupt fuckers; but at the very least we can instill a sense of ethics and tool sets designed to undermine citizen hostile governments. Part of that is utilizing the Dark Web to talk and transmit news which has been blacklisted by the press; switching from OS that collect data on their users for a chance at increasing profits (like Windows, macOS). Or if they must use them for work and school, show them the tools needed to debloat those OSes so that they can remove spyware elements with ease!

It’s a step in the right direction but with tools like ReActor and Roop there is no need for trained LoRas.

And then there is FaceSwap and others - but those need some technical skills and good hardware.

Its a problem on many fronts.
