Not a ragebait post.
I started thinking why I hate AI and it’s mostly:
- It is pushed down my throat very hard for what it does;
- The unauthorized use of content on the internet;
- The worsening of the environmental crisis;
- The content it generates is shit.
I am wondering do you have other arguments against it?
I actually don’t have a blanket hate of AI; it genuinely has some useful applications .
Like you, though, I strongly resent software being installed on my machines without my permission. Not an anti-AI argument as such, granted.
My problem with LLMs specifically is that they have been set up to use the labour of other people, without permission and without paying for that labour, which is plainly unethical.
I’m in this boat. People place too much trust in LLMs, and aren’t aware of how much it can hallucinate and be taught lies. People have literally died because of interacting with LLMs, where they probably wouldn’t have died, had they not had that interaction.
