  • You’re just right. Most people are really weak and spineless, and on top of that a lot of people are just plain evil. We constantly make excuses for the people who cause the most harm through bigotry and we’re all pressured into punishing anyone who decides to take action against bigots into their own hands.

I say fuck it all and do what I want which is the opposite of that. No more coddling bigoted viewpoints.

  • I appreciate you listening. I do expect you to be able to be more accepting of other trans people and to be stronger in the face of bigotry.

I think you are able to overcome these feelings.

The thing I probably feel the most about being a trans person is that I feel like I’m constantly being proven right that people secretly hate us. That I should trust my gut instincts when I feel that energy and protect myself accordingly.

Every post lately on every platform has this air right now. Of “how can I fit in more and avoid being outcast” and the answer to that question is meet the needs of the status quo. And the status quo right now is and has been “try to remove trans people from society”.

I don’t think there are answers that work that aren’t “stop being afraid of being trans”

  • I have been following expectations less and less, it is really good for my quality of life and I recommend it personally.

I’m trans and homeless though so I never get hired and everyone treats me like a criminal by default anyway lol even though I’m clean and healthy they think I’m dirty and weird because of my recycled clothes and that I dress for the weather and comfort which doesn’t align with their gender expectations. I just treat it like a really good flea dip, everyone who treats me with kindness is more trustworthy.

I gave up on finding work in August when things didn’t work out with an amazing case manager. She could get anyone a job, the problem is the market was ignoring me outright. I got certified and tons of volunteer experience along the way but none of it was worth it or got me what I was looking for in life.

I’ve been learning how to live outside in the city and out in nature too. Learning to identify plants and forage. My partner is amazingly kind and supportive thankfully, although they often struggle too. It’s way more rewarding because these skills can carry me through the rest of my life and give me autonomy that no one can take away through outside pressure.

  • From a purely strategic standpoint the people like you in my family are seen as having chose the fascists over their queer family members, IJS. I don’t know how “bad” your family is, but I cut off my dad after he told me “n words are taking all the welfare” and I don’t talk to anyone who take his side on that issue. I’ve been called all manner of immature for that decision by people like you. But my dad is a racist chud, still is.
