Nice one, mate!
Very true. I was just hoping -naively- about a future point of self awareness or lucidity in my compatriots that may never occur.
Fuck I feel old. Great article though, thanks made my day:)
Can’t remember the number of hours I put into “the ancient art of war” on my Dad’s Amstrad.
Nope, God is just a lousy shot.
Recognizing an error publicly or even out loud to those you are close with is something that takes courage and dignity.
Yeah, for a trump voter, that’s a tough hill to climb and probably outside most of their lifespans.
Sorry, you’re right, will do for next time:) I guess I wrote my inner questions while showering than crafting this as terminal thoughts.
Using AI for translations is one thing. Their leadership recently partnering with ZA/UM is quite a bit more concerning for their employees IMO.
I really hope an unintended consequence of this is causing Meta and Instagram to take a hit to their shares.
Leonie Mack, who has received a mysterious rating for her latest novel Head Over Wheels (Bedford Square), said: “Just yesterday, I had a one-star rating on a book that’s not out yet, from a brand new account listed in the Russian Federation that has no other reviews than my one-star rating.
Goodreads reviews have long been associated with review bombing, for example in 2021 Time revealed how some authors were [allegedly victims of extortion], facing demands to pay scammers to avoid bad reviews on the website.
God dammit. Goodreads enshittification.
Thank you for all the ongoing work you put in, bud!
Wish I could help you out technically, but I’m a little new to the Fediverse myself. I will pass along my hopes that your health stays strong, friend.
Very, very cool. Is it wrong that I feel a small sense of victory for the imaginative power of of this research team, given the constant AI and quantum computing take over that tech pushes?
Easy enough. Instead of using zealot fan boys as your play testers get some actual writers to look things over.
“Hey, David Hayter, you’ve written for some movies, what do you think of Kojima’s latest script?”
“He said it was shit…” And in Solid snake’s voice too. Ouch.
It’s good game.
Really wish the makers of the old Westworld game hadn’t stupidly/blatantly copied the code for their game to make it. Would have been a nice companion game.
Why do I get the feeling this was one of many non public corrupt decisions this man made? Apologies if this is not the case, but our shitty leader in US will have an iceberg of maleficence on his coat tails.
Nice. $80 and exclusivity to Epic again, right? That extra capital didn’t help the first game, don’t have any hopes it will this time either.
On my MacBook Ghostty is fucking awesome!! Testing several for the macOs these past weeks and so far it’s still at the top.
I do love Steven’s shows, from the Daily Show, Colbert Report and the late show. I’m sure there’s an element of business appeasement there, but I also think that it’s a sign of the slow death of television -at least for the post boomers. I feel for the people that lack broadband and now have one less voice calling out this administration.
I also hope he can help his crew and writers move into their next ‘thing’. Personally, I’m hoping he can go back to his Colbert Report format again on some online platform -not Apple. It was funny, informative and genuine (loved the ‘get to know…’ segments). But he might not have the energy for that anymore. I’m imagining he’s going to go the Conan route and switch to a podcast instead.
Either way, I’m sure he will be back.
