  • That’s not what the film is about though… spoilers ahead

    spoiler

Bonnie is struggling to make friends because she still plays with toys but all the other kids play online games together. So her parents get her a tablet. However, the other kids find out that Bonnie still plays with toys and they start to cyber-bully her

Eventually the toys realize that the tablet is a toy and they become friends with the tablet and use it to help Bonnie find a long-distance friend that also plays with toys. The two girls become friends and they use the table to play online games when they’re apart and use it as a physical toy when they are together… like using it to play music for their wedding or pretending it’s a UFO abducting the other toys.

In the end, when the other kids see Bonnie and her friend playing outside they too want to go outside and join in

The movie straight up starts out with the toys thinking the tablet is bad because the kids aren’t playing like their previous owners did and eventually they realize that the kids are playing, they’re just playing in a different way and that’s OK

At one point the tablet thinks it’s bad for Bonnie and literally tries to throw itself away and the other toys rescue it.

The movie doesn’t say, “tablets are bad”, it encourages you to use it as a toy… both as something to play games on but also as a physical toy that you use your imagination with. Use it to put on a light show for your dance party… that kind of thing

I don’t know how to prove I’m a human… cock shit asshole with fucking toejam stuck in my dickhole… is that something AI would say? Does that work for you.

    Anyway,

    https://www.mckinsey.com/capabilities/quantumblack/our-insights/the-state-of-ai

In 2017 about 20% of companies were using AI. In 2025 that number was at 88%

“The share of respondents saying their organizations are using AI in at least one business function has increased since our research last year: 88 percent report regular AI use in at least one business function, compared with 78 percent a year ago. At the enterprise level, the majority are still in the experimenting or piloting stages with approximately one-third reporting that their companies have begun to scale their AI programs”

“The use of AI overall is broadening within organizations. Respondents increasingly report that their organizations are using AI in more business functions. More than two-thirds of respondents now say their organizations are using AI in more than one function, and half report using AI in three of more functions.”

“By industry, the use of AI agents is most widely reported in the technology, media and telecommunications, and healthcare sectors.”

“Many companies, particularly smaller ones, have yet to integrate AI deeply across their workflows… Nearly half of respondents from companies with more than $5 billion in revenue have reached the scaling phase, compared with 29 percent of those with less than $100 million in revenues”

  • “By the 2020s, conservatives were dying at significantly higher rates than liberals, with the gap concentrated in internal causes (for example, heart disease, cancer and stroke). The divide since 2020 is substantial: while only 0.2% of ‘very liberal’ respondents died of internal causes between 2020 and 2022, the probability for people who identified as ‘very conservative’ was 1.14 percentage points higher (P = 0.021; 95% confidence interval (CI), (0.18, 2.11)). This gap is not limited to deaths from COVID-19 and is not reducible to demographic or geographic differences between the groups, nor is it a pure function of ageing: previous cohorts’ death patterns in older data did not show a similar correlation between health and ideology before 2010.”

  • Elon can get fucked… Elon did not bring a baby out on stage and eat it. Saying that does not mean I’m defending Elon. It’s just me telling the truth.

There is an objecting truth to what happened and that objective truth is that Elon literally said he was thanking people from his heart and then he grabbed his heart and threw his hand up

That is actually, factually, literally, what happened

but sadly you’ll deny these obvious truths simply because you don’t like the person the lie hurts. That’s a shit fucking thing to do. You’d apparently lie about a murder if the person about to go to jail is someone you don’t like. That’s who you are and that’s fucked up

Not me. I hate Elon but also, he didn’t heil Hitler. I saw it. That’s not what happened.

  • You say this, but I got banned from a sub for being a corporate shill for trying to explain to what I’m pretty sure was a 13 year old kid that AI is not going to dissapear and that it’s not just a fun toy used to make shitty TikTok videos

I would explain what AI Agents were and how they worked and what they did and I was told I was a troll that like to suck my bosses dick… and then I was banned

My job? Software engineer. Been one for over 20 years.

Those same people that called me a troll, a shill, a company man that liked to suck my bosses dick; the mods that banned me; they are all probably here right now talking about how stupid it is that people don’t listen to experts…

  • yeah, I looked it up thanks to your post… you are correct. It is not technically a mental illness it is dysmorphia.

Which, hey, I learned something, so thanks

But the point stands. We can argue all day about what is, “normal”, but it’s not typical to think you’re a man trapped in a womans body and yeah, there might be something slightly wrong if that’s the case. But that’s ok, there’s something slightly wrong with all of us.

Which, again, opens the argument about “normal”. Is it “normal” to have anxiety? I mean, lots of people do have it. Is it normal to be transgender, lots of people are.

But again, my point is, don’t hide from it, love who you are and accept it.

Yeah, I’m a bit fucked up but that’s OK because that’s what makes me, me; and I love being me. I’m me and I’m proud!

You say AI doesn’t do new things but it does, probably more so than any other invention in human history…

I’m under the impression that you’re young and that to you AI is a fad because it’s just a silly toy that people use to make shitty TikTok videos; that eventually people will tire of the AI slop, it’ll stop getting likes, and people will stop using it.

But that’s not what AI actually is, that’s just the side effect of AI.

AI can do anything you can do on a computer. If you can write code and make apps, so can AI. If you can make pictures and music, so can can AI. If you do data analytics for research, so can AI. If you use computers to scan the stars for planets, look for cancer, or research potential new forms of medicine, so can AI. And crazier, you don’t even need to type. Speech-To-Text and Text-To-Speech means you can literally just talk to your computer now. You can have actual conversations with your computer. It can help you debug, design, build, and when it comes down to it, AI can actually do the work for you.

And unlike Siri you don’t have to give it specific commands. “It’s fucking dark in here, fix that” is something AI can understand. It’ll turn on the lights

It’s something straight out of Star Trek

None of us are worried about AI because it sucks, we’re all worried about AI because it’s so immensely powerful we’re a bit scared about what it means for all of our futures.

Is AI going to bring in a new age of marvelous science where cancer is curable and every year we get what is basically a vaccine for the cold? Are humanoid robots going to make complex surgery a breeze with a 99.999% survival rate? Or are clankers going to take all of our jobs and be used in humanoid robots to invade my country?

Either way, it’s not going away. It’s here… people have been working on this, researching it, writing papers on it, experimenting with it, etc… for decades and we’ve finally figured out how to make it work. Nobody is just throwing it away now that it’s here
