help-circle

  • I will try it based on your second paragraph.

Are you sure the pipeline works that way? I know what you mean and it would seem like a huge oversight on their part to apply the denoise before the other edits. I would assume that increasing exposure, for example, would ignore the applied denoise rather than apply it overtop? If that wording makes any sense

Regardless I’ve used it to rescue photos I’ve taken on a nexus 4 over a decade ago, making them look like proper photos, and I find the feature so useful that it’s irreplaceable to me

The other feature is the AI content aware fill. In darktable, can you circle a piece of garbage on the ground and effortlessly remove it? Or do you have to do some manual clone stamping etc etc?

In a recent instance, a friend requested an album cover from a 3x2 image that I needed to expand to be 1x1. Can you tell that the left and right edges of this are not real? I don’t think I would have been skilled enough to pull this off without AI tools. https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a1356058193_10.jpg

If you want to get into jobs, look at stats for which genders did which jobs 100 years ago and then look at the data for today. Basically the same list. Mostly men are still fixing power lines and mostly women are still working at schools. The differences in biology make for different strengths and weaknesses and there’s literally nothing wrong with that

Also I hate to say this but the patriarchy is what allows feminism to exist so I think we are on a pretty good path right now

Dad ran an auto repair shop for 40 years and his dad before him and I’ve had the pleasure of watching it all unfold. My dad refused to allow me to inherit the shop and told me to pursue a different career for my entire life

Maybe it’s possible to make EVs that can be repaired, but just with the state of humanity I don’t think this is ever going to happen

You don’t actually own the car you bought, it’s impossible to repair via third party

I think EVs only exist to bail out the failing car industry

I also think fire risks are underestimated and unlike a normal car fire you can’t just put it out with an extinguisher. I live in BC and one day there’s going to be an EV fire on a ferry and the entire narrative is going to change

I also think they are just plain boring. I hate modern cars entirely but EVs have such a numbed down driving experience that it’s just depressing. In the future I’ll probably just stop driving cars entirely. I live in a pretty bikeable area but the only reason I drive is because I simply enjoy driving my sports car over a bike
