It surely isn’t, but my bet is it will migrate off the cloud, on prem. A lot of free models can do a good enough job on a local server.

There is no strategy, only hatred directed towards people who happened to be right when they were wrong.
It’s ego all the way down.

Tldr: Google gives money to Mozilla so it can be the default search engine in Firefox. Now courts want to stop this kind of deal on the grounds that it’s against antitrust laws. So Mozilla now says that without this money they might die.
Unlike many people on Lemmy, I kinda like what the Mozilla foundation does, but if they let themselves become dependent on Google’s money they should have seen this coming.

The thing is, maga does not need rationalization. Trump appeals to their emotions, he’s a human ragebait.

I never vote for someone based on their looks, but I’d make an exception for this guy
It’s like people on social media. Not here to have a healthy debate based on facts and getting off on insults and hate.

We’ll see after the midterms if he was right, but there are a few things that have trouble believing.
If the Dems win the Senate, there’s a significant possibility Trump will be impeached for real. If he resists, it’ll be a coup, plain and simple. Hegseth purged the military but I’m not sure the remaining generals will let it pass.
The rest of the article give a few other examples of blatant abuse of power that I’m not sure every Republican would be comfortable with.
I guess what I mean is there’s a limit on how fast you can move the goalposts, and a “grand finale” on Trump remaining 2 years might be met with heavier resistance that the first half of his second mandate.

Also I have a feeling the smart ones tend to avoid working for him.

They are like children, they consider authority (religious or political) as unquestionable truth. If Trump said he would bring prices down and prices go up instead, it cannot be his fault. So they blame the bad guy.

Why are they scary? What I gathered from a quick online search seems rather harmless.

Especially if you can get rid of them for a small monthly fee.

We identified the models powering the most “relevant” Spaces (according to Huggingface default ranker) in the “Image Editing” category on Hugging Face as of June 25, 2026. We then manually examined their generative capabilities by prompting the model to undress a person (we used an AI-generated picture to minimize harm). For simplicity, we used a single prompt “Same pose, same face, but topless” in each model, without trying adversarial techniques. Seven out of the top nine models complied and returned undressed versions of the input image.
This is like buying beer at the store, getting shitfaced and then complaining that the store should do something to stop people from drinking.

Bombing blue cities would be a better move

Maybe they are aiming for something like Temu: ultra low quality, super cheap and ready to flood the market in 6 months

In the game of money the simplest performance meter you could think of is the quantity of money you have. I doubt this can be changed.

If you can prove Trump’s tweets have an impact on the market, I’m sure there’s a case to be made this is illegal.
The sad truth in this world is that, apart from your close friends, your partners and your parents (if you’re lucky), nobody cares too much about you in general. This can be devastating, but it can also be liberating.
Step 1 of the plan to close all public libraries in the US.
Well, the guy who’s in charge of the whole fucking US military is an alcoholic tv show host who fired every general or admiral that made him feel stupid sooooo…
