Sometimes there’s no conspiracy.

While I’m not sure I agree with everything you said, you’re right that Trump only serves as the useful idiot. If you want to know what’s in store for him, just look what happened to Boris Yeltsin.
I’d really like to see where you get these facts. I am not awa of any species that went extinct because of cats specifically, and I never saw a cat with a territory of more than a few hundred meters radius.
Well no shit. If a department store can change the prices of items at the click of a button, you have to expect them to do it to make more money.
There are currently now laws against this kind of abuse, to my knowledge. There was no need for them when you had to pay someone to manually change all price tags.

You want change: organize and vote. Lots of comments here that seem to view politics as a show, as if we were powerless against the events that unfold week after week. It’s only a show if you don’t care enough to participate.

Their base is whoever votes in the primaries.
It took about 7 years for the Republican party to change from the Bush/Cheney era to full on fascism. The democratic party is not immune to a drastic change (hopefully towards the opposite end of the spectrum), but it won’t happen overnight and people that want this change must get involved. Money allows to promote an agenda, helps with organizing a campaign, but ultimately it’s the people who vote.

Crazy how some people have very strong opinions on politics but no basic understanding of how democracy works

It’s not for liberals to move the democratic party left, it’s for everybody that wants the democratic party to change to do so.

Maybe stop doing business with Deloitte for a while?

In all objectivity, this seems like the most rational thing to do.
Now that you can have good translation by AI, why would anyone want to waste their time on localization?

Bingo. See 1984 for details.

50 something here, second that!

Anonymity allows some assholes to abuse women, send death threats to people they don’t like, ask kids for naked selfies, etc. It seems to me that a lot of hatred and aggression we see online comes from this anonymity.
A few years of this kind of interactions create division in society, people trust each other less and less. Is it surprising that fascism is on the rise everywhere on the planet when hatred has been normalized in social media?
I don’t know if digital id is the best solution for this, but its the only one I can think of, and it seems to me that anonymity is the cause of too many problems to dismiss any potential solution.

You know, I’m still on the fence about a universal digital id. Yes, it can be a tool of mass surveillance, but in 2025 governments don’t need it to track everything you do online. And anonymity allows a lot of assholes to speak without fear of consequences. Politicians get a lot of death threats, women get a lot of abuse… It has to be controlled and used in a way that respects the right to privacy, but it could be a solution to many problems online.

The fact that they are sorta preemptively limiting AI control and regulation makes me wonder what they expect AI to do in the near future.

I don’t know if Thiel is a smart investor, but if this is on of the first sign of the AI bubble burst, yay!
The same thing is happening with cars. Good luck trying to get a new unconnected vehicle, and good luck to the company who plans to sell them.

Holy shit people still watch this??

Their tone might have been a bit sarcastic, but was neither condescending nor insulting.
I for one would like to know why GDR would be more likely than other parts of Germany to adopt these policies.
Because I don’t know you.
