But this is different than how it seems to be for neurotypical people (as I’m sure many of us have seen it when sharing our meds in our youth)

For neurotypical people, amphetamines make them slightly manic, not just just energized but also euphoric. With ADHD, instead it’s more like gaining clarity, the task that looks like a mountain is reduced just to the path through it. It’s like dropping weight, all the imaginary baggage required for a thing is just gone, and you can just do it

Give most people strong stimulants and ask them to meditate and they’ll grind their teeth and twitch with unrealized energy. Give one to someone with adhd, and they’ll find it easier to be still than they ever have

I wouldn’t call that a failure… You seem like you’re one tweak away from having lots of nice crisp lettuce

Maybe a bit more light? You can get led grow lights pretty cheaply if you shop around, you could try it on a couple plants to supplement the indirect light without raising the temperature much and test if it works

The government job is to reign in out of control elements, like companies releasing products bad for mental health

People want cheap products in a general sense, they don’t like off shoring, it was hugely disruptive to jobs and the quality nose dives (at least for a time, sometimes permanently). They didn’t ask for or choose it, they’re the low information side of the system

Of course they’re upset at things being tariffed, they don’t want prices going up. They likely have some preference to buy things made locally, or by a country with a reputation

None of this is a choice made by consumers, it’s a generalized set of incentives and pressures created by the market

How do I know where my keys are? I just remember the location of my keys…I don’t see them, I remember their location. It’s one of a million little quantifications of the environment my brain does for me automatically all the time. In fact, I generally notice and remember where all the keys I see are, because I think of keys as an important object to keep track of

I won’t remember what they look like, except as a very general impression. I’ll probably remember if they’re big or small bunches of keys, or if they’re on a lanyard, but I probably won’t remember if a keychain is red or green. I’ll remember it’s on a side table near the door, or on this side of the room.

But I’ll remember qualia of the keys. I’ll remember if I see an individual put them down somewhere, and if there’s something interesting about the keys I’ll probably remember that, but generally? I probably won’t remember much except the general location

At the end of the day, I remember what I notice, which is generally what matters to me subjectively. My mind stores everything as impressions

The first two are debt related, and the third is off shoring

Rereading it, it seems that they probably set their local build to point at the prod database… Which is like halfway developing (with AI) in prod (which I think we’d agree is not ideal)

Permanent standard time is objectively better, if anyone bothered to listen to the experts the opinion is clear. Last time we tried permanent dst it didn’t last through the first winter, because people hated it

And if it turns out the number can’t be changed through your actions, that would tell you a lot. If nothing else, you could say goodbye to loved ones and get incredibly rich by finding a CEO about to run out of time
