Jokes aside, ladder fall accidents are terrifyingly dangerous and will fuck you up.
Agreed. My one friend’s dad fell off a ladder and landed on concrete. He had a lot issues as a result. I believe he recovered mostly from that before being diagnosed with really early pancreatic cancer (a year after the fall and was actually caught on a CT scan bc of the fall). He passed away a few months ago.
People don’t give falls the respect they deserve. I worked at a place that required fall-arrest harnesses for anything over 5 ft. It was a pain for sure, and people loved to bitch and moan, but a 5 ft fall can genuinely be deadly.

I fell off a step ladder as a teenager and physically was only badly bruised.
It has left me with a lifelong minor fear of ladders though.
Only person I know who fell off one died. Real tragic, he had just retired.

Relative of mine dropped 3 meters down and since then is heavily disabled. Happened at the ripe old age of 8 years.
Falling down and landing head head first is lethal at any age. Ladders don’t even have to be a part of it, normal standing height can sometimes be enough. It happens more to older adults because they don’t have the speed or mobility to break their own fall, but it can kill a youngster too if they’re not careful.
You think ladder accidents are bad… I’m still traumatized from when i searched “trampoline accident”. I can’t drive the 55 south because of it
