Steeped in gaming and rightwing culture wars, Musk and his team of teenage coders set out to defeat the enemy of the United States: its people

If the mandate of DOGE was to “[modernise] federal technology and software to maximise governmental efficiency and productivity”, in the words of the executive order that launched the initiative on 20 January 2025, the reality was a strengthening of the state’s surveillance capacities.

Over time, Musk had become convinced that the real bugs in the code were people, especially the non-white illegal immigrants whom he saw as pawns in a liberal scheme to corrupt democracy and beneficiaries of what he called “suicidal empathy”. He understood empathy itself in coding terms. It was an “exploit” or a software vulnerability against which the system architecture needed to be hardened.

Strangely, I think this article gives Musk too much credit for good intentions. It assumes he honestly wanted to make government more efficient and fucked it up.

I think he wanted to, one, eliminate the dozens of DOJ investigations into his companies and delete the evidence they’d collected; two, sabotage every government agency that might possibly interfere with his companies in future, doing so much damage that it would be decades before they could return to even their pathetic Biden-era level of effectiveness; and three, collect all the US government’s information about us in one place so he could steal it for his surveillance machines.

Musk accomplished all of that brilliantly, and then fucked off to enjoy his trillion-dollar victory lap.

I thought it was becoming well known that he did it to entrench Palantir into the government, bypassing information secrecy laws, making it irreplaceable by the government as no piece of software could ever do similar. Which will then force other governments world wide utilize it, entrenching it as a global spying apparatus for the US government.

Elon knows as much about government as he knows about people or computer programming.

He was a tool to thiel, to siphon government data to their private data banks. He is mentally, uh, challenged himself, musk.

I don’t doubt it. But it’s hardly nothing more than, they are selling us out to more than just Putin. The thiel/yarvin set got a copy. I imagaine the president’s own businesses got a copy of all of that information, Russia as you say, Israel, and I couldn’t even hazard a guess as to whom else they made deals to share the information with in whole or part.

Democracy now this summer or fall had a guy at the labor department on that saw them exporting all the data in real time there too.

Yeah, that’s the same guy from the article. I’m sure Saudi and Qatar are in as well since they have numerous financial ties. It’s fucked.

Some may call me an accelerationist for this statement, but this is why I’m hoping for total federal collapse and economic failure. Mostly because I can’t imagine a situation where the damage these pissants have done can be countered without it. Most of them are untouchable so long as the US exists and the global economic order remains unfractured and regardless they’ve already set us on course towards that inevitability in my opinion.

Yes, every system has been compromised. There’s no way to know how many puppets have been installed at every level of government. The whole thing needs to collapse and start anew.

I mean he started by tricking them into EV subsidies so he could privatize the profits of electrification.

The mass immigration is to depress salaries. In the 70s bout of inflation countries all over the world did wage caps, including the US in the Economic Stabilization Act of 1970, which entrenched inflated asset values and debased salaries.

They also attempted to squash unions, blaming them for the inflation caused by currency debasement. Don’t let left leaning people say that immigrants don’t affect wages, they obviously do.
