Yes, we are the hive mind, with a s singular, unbroken opinion that none may disagree with. All must hate.

No matter how the technology improves. No matter what they accomplish with it. Hate is everything. Hate is all we have and all we will ever have.

Singapore put one of the first full AI movies into cinemas last year: “Madam Zheng”. It is absolute garbage, got a 1.6/10 on IMDB and barely anyone watched it. I didn’t find any news articles about it at the time, but the YouTuber Pinely made a video about it with some details and horrible shots.

The real first one is always the one that eventually at least partially succeeds. History will lose the rest and hand wave them away by making up various reasons it could be disqualified.

Only us geeks will remember them all in documentaries. I want to watch that AI film with my film buddies. On a bad movie night, going in blind.

We have decades of mst3k experience. We have watched everything from plan 9 to crossroads to pootie tang to sisterhood of the traveling pants to lobster man from mars to whatever that one Britney or Mariah was in that wasn’t crossroads that was so ooo bad to Alvin 2 the Squeakuel to Lord of the Rings to I could go on. We watch everything.

Have you seen The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Dimension? Captured the feel of the New Wave 80s better than any other movie, and includes the most unhinged performance of John Lithgow’s career, including my favorite movie quote: “Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!”

          Really great.

They’ve been playing around with it, like how they did The Wizard of Oz at the sphere in Vegas. The original aspect ratio was legit but everything in the periphery is heavy AI.

They also edited a bunch of the stuff within the original shots. I know someone who worked on it and they were showing me some of the artifacting; the short extras in particular have had their faces absolutely destroyed, and it even added a few that weren’t there before. It’s very funny to me that they upscaled it for the Sphere, but you are ABSOLUTELY NOT meant to look directly at anything that got inserted.

That Wizard of Oz movie is really weird. They put the original movie into a tiny area and generated a whole load of surroundings with AI.

The original framing and artistic intent get totally lost, it’s a novel idea but a shit product as a movie. “Be Kind Rewind” watched it live and made a lengthy review about that slopfest on YouTube.

Great video, this and the recent DLSS 5 sutff… Ugh, as a creative person it fills me with sadness and despair.

In both cases it’s a grotesque display of disrespect for the artform, for all the creatives that made posible the originals… All packaged as primo slop for people to mindlessly consume.

Truly shows how this technology degrades art and turns it into mere spectacle… soon everything will be slopified. To think of the implications sends a shiver down my spine.

They claimed it was all AI but I’ve heard that’s actually not true and many people had to work on each frame because AI simply didn’t do that good of a job.
