Clarification: top pic from February 2026, bottom from June 1989.
Inflation from 1989 to now would make this cost $2.37. So, even accounting for inflation, the price has doubled.
Rare that a food would have its price reduced by 83% 35 years later… usually that kind of depreciation only happens in tech
Never heard of Moore’s burrito law?
Mmmm…. More burrito…. 🤤
That’s the DoorDash inflated price too, I think. Looks like the DoorDash UI.
So, that 0.89 isn’t delivery price.
I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I went to look. Check out that bullshit claim that it’s a “great price.”

Damn. Around here you can still get the $7 box in which the beefy 5-layer burrito is one of five included items (chalupa, burrito, taco, dessert, and drink).
I’m fully convinced they’re trained to put different amounts of filling in items in the box though, as whenever I get an a la carte item it’s packed with whatever protein and extra fixins, whereas the same item in the boxes is mostly sauce and cheese (sauce, real cheese is usually skimpier too)
Bring back the horse meat discount
It’s $.89 per layer + tax.
I’m not really seeing the five layers in either tbh

Sorry for the rough edit, on mobile. But it’s beans, beef, sour cream, cheese, nacho cheese spread on the tortilla.
Ty!
No prob! But, yeah, it looks like three layers, four if you squint.
Maybe some of it is because it was the original LTO price?
