Trump rigged the 2020 election and STILL lost. That’s why he’s so mad about it.

Fact is, if his opponents were all white men, he would never win at all.

You guys nailed it. He’s so grrrrr buttmad because of that. When he kept going on about how he’ll be “your” retribution, it was more about his revenge fantasies against anyone that stood in his way.

This is both accurate and upsetting, and a step further, had he lost in 16, to anybody. I don’t think he’d have had a chance in 20 if he even ran.

A democrat would have been torn apart over COVID no matter how they handled it.

I think you’re right to a degree, I do think Covid wouldn’t have been AS bad as under Trump. And the GOP still could’ve marched right into a win in 2020, but those years prior when he was president were still extremely damaging to both the sanity and structure of this country. The Supreme Court nominees alone would leave us in a wildly different state not to mention everything else he did to fan the flames of xenophobia and bigotry

The issue is that doing the right thing and doi g the popular thing are often two different things. Covid almost certainly would’ve been better under Democrat control. It very well could cost them politically though. You can’t really compare hypothetical deaths to actual ones, so they wouldn’t have a number to tell people they saved. A lot of people would have just complained that they’re being forced to do things they don’t like, even if it’s good.

Yeah, but then we would’ve just gotten a regular old run-of-the-mill jerk-off Republican like Romney or Jeb next, and we would have spent the next 4-8 years saying “holy shit, this guy is so awful, how could it be any worse,” just blissfully unaware.

How do I immigrate to that timeline?

No way. A strong response against COVID would have been an easy win.

Remember at the beginning of COVID, when Trump was asked “What do you say to Americans who are scared?” A softball question so soft that it would melt in a cup of hot chocolate. Literally any president ever would have a historic soundbite as an answer. George W. Bush would have sounded like the most presidential motherfucker you’ve ever heard.

Trump said: “I say you’re a terrible reporter.”

So I think Trump’s response to COVID was uniquely disastrous to him on every level. The fact that anyone ever took him seriously will continue to be a national and historical embarrassment.

Yeah, I still believe that if he had said, “Listen to Dr. Fauci here, and buy my 2020 Trump hats,” he would have coasted to an easy win that year.

But his own arrogance wouldn’t let him do that, of course.

Dude, they couldn’t even keep Trump’s second term out of the way. The good ol’ centrist Democrats were even energizing people for a couple months and shut it all down in favour of supporting Israel and having Harris spend more time with Liz Cheney than her own running mate.

You’re spot-on that folks outside the US think the country is an embarrassing failure, though. Just a bunch of toddlers, cowards, and sychohants.

Oh, Trump was a disaster, don’t get me wrong. But we could have had 1000 deaths under President Hillary and the entire media would have been calling it the worst disaster in the history of America. And without Trump to compare it to we never would have known how bad it could be.

This, you can be sure of. If there was evidence it would have been blasted across the airwaves by now and most likely before the 2024 campaign. A lot more Democrats would have lost in 2022, 2024, and even coming up in 2026, if there was actually any evidence…

This is just your standard boilerplate “every accusation is a confession” from the GOPedo.
