You guys are looking at other people’s accounts for trustworthiness? Most I do is judge people off what instance they’re on (which I feel is simultaneously both a very and also not very “dot world” of me).
It doesn’t matter on Reddit either, technically. I think. I haven’t been there in 3 years so I dunno maybe you can buy kind strangers golf or some stupid shit.
Because on reddit it accumulates to your account. Here, there’s zero record of your upvotes outside of the individual posts/comments themselves and it doesn’t track between instances.
What’s the incentive for Lemmy? Points/karma doesn’t matter here.
I think here on Lemmy the incentive is comment and post history to have a more trusted account.
