We’ll see. His first “decision” is reportedly to force engineering to use AI.
My worst fears came true. This is making Tim Apple sound like a better CEO.
Well this is disappointing. One of my favorite things about Apple and apple products is they were mostly devoid of AI (mostly due to lack of competence than choice likely but devoid nonetheless)
If this is the direction the company heading it’s just accelerating the downfall that began under twilight Tim Apple. Apple was for creators, it is supposed to be antithetical to AI.
Here’s an idea to reinvent.
Make tech, not surveillance gear.
They were making tech, which functioned as surveillance gear. With the reimagining, expect surveillance gear which functions as tech.
Are you thinking of google? You’re talking about them not Apple.
Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Meta, Nvidia, and yes, Apple, are all in the surveilance sales industry. The tech they produce is irrelevant.
He ain’t doing a goddamn thing other than increasing shareholder profits.
He was against Apple Vision Pro and the Apple Car, while reportedly the MacBook Neo was his idea. Small sample size, but encouraging nonetheless.
Against the Vision Pro? Or did they just want it to bake longer? I think we can all see how that needs a second revision hardware wise. (Lighter, etc.)
The problem is that it’s just fundamentally not compelling. They failed at selling VR/AR as a non-gaming platform. I can’t imagine wanting to use VR for anything but gaming, and it was especially handicapped for that purpose not being able to be optionally tethered to a MacBook for games.
I hear his big thing is to remove the power button from their entire line for being superfluous.
