What a scumbag, in other words, typical CEO behavior. God forbid you have to give the raises you promised people if they meet the goals that you set. Even ChatGPT said that he couldn’t weasel out of it, and he basically said “find a way for me not to pay anyway”.
I wanted it to be good because I loved the original. Now I also want it to be good to make that guy pay.
Lol could it be brilliant reverse psychology?
CEOs are negative value employees.
usually
$250m in bonuses is going to open a lot of independent game studios, I’d think
Pretty sure ChatGPT was used to write the TOS as well, it doesn’t read like something to be expected from a capable lawyer.
It’s a bit petty but what I want to know is what is the minimum # of units sold that will trigger the Subnautica devs getting their $250 million bonus so we can screw Krafton even harder by encouraging people to pirate it after :>
From the trial brief: “The earnout amount is calculated by multilpying the Maximum One-Year Revenue above $69.8 million by 3.12, with a cap at $250 million”. So every $ above $69.8mil they have to pay 3.12x for every $1 in sales. How many copies depends on the country I suppose as costs vary, but if it was all US based at $30/each that would be ~2.3mil copies sold. Not sure on the timeframe. Higher and faster the better tho.
