I’ve noticed a massive overlap between trans and telecom. Even before the internet, telephone phreaks were more often than not trans or trans adjacent, or just straight up eggs before it was cool.
first trans person I ever met was at a 2600 meetup at the dallas galleria, sometime around 1994-5
The meowing is just modem sounds, softened to be produceable by and understandable to humans. Or at least to transfemme humans
