A follow up to my previous meme - https://lemmy.ca/post/58415099

All I’ve done is stop ordering takeout, stopped making giant suppers an hour before bed and just eat healthier and smaller meals in general. Also I only eat once per day at supper time, so I guess that’s intermittent fasting I think? Didn’t even plan to do it, but I’m feeling so much better about myself.

Also helps that I’ve never been a very food motivated person so it’s easy for me to ignore my stomach all day until supper. Now if I could just cut out alcohol I would be really happy with how I look. The one thing that’s making me stay a bit chubby 😭

That’s my go to for many reasons. Low calorie, no added sugar, hydrates you better, and helps you avoid a hangover. Also, imo vodka is the only liquor where I can drink the cheap shit without noticing a difference, so I can order well at a bar and save a few bucks, or drink Kirkland when I’m at home.

I cut out all drinks with calories (replaced them with sparkling water) and almost all refined sugar.
No calory counting or consciously limiting how much I eat.
But I do divide my meals into two portions now, and only eat the second one once I’m hungry again.
And I started commuting to work by bicycle.
Lost 18 pounds in 10 weeks so far.

I did the same thing, used to drink a lot of pop and juice and now I just have my morning coffee and water for the rest of the day. Now if I could just cut out the booze, I would have a healthy body but that’s the hardest part for me tbh.

Biking is awesome for losing weight, I was in the best shape of my life in 2017 when I was able to bike to and from work everyday while working construction. Not an option for me anymore sadly as my current job is a 20 minute drive away from home with 10 of that being on the highway.

      Congratulations on your success!

Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it. Let’s both take this next work week to be alcohol free together! We got this!

I completely get it, when you’re used to drinking booze constantly it’s hard to take a break.

I’d be happy if I last till Wednesday tbh, I’m gonna do my best to have a sober week but it’s gonna be tough.

All the best to you! All anyone can do is their best and learn from their mistakes.

Congrats! I’m ~20lbs down since I started trying to lose weight again and ~50lbs from my peak weight.

ngl I haven’t noticed a difference at all, but I did have to use a knife to make a new belt hole on my belt 😭

Absolutely, and that’s the hardest part for me. Life kinda sucks for me rn so it’s how I cope. When I don’t drink I just feel bored and nothing interests me. Had only one sober day in the last month. I’m not getting wasted everyday of course, I make it to work on time and put in a good shift, but still it’s way too much.

Gonna stay sober this upcoming work week for a change cause I felt so much better after being sober for even 1 day. Taking things one step at a time to better myself.

You got this. When I’m backing off my favorite next unhealthy thing, I read, walk, doodle, color, sing, clean, play with the fur baby, whatever I can get away with in the time and setting.

Yeah, not everyone is wired the same way. You think over the course of human history that most people just had time to wake up and have a filling breakfast in the morning? No shot.

Honestly I’ve never been a breakfast person. I wake up and have some coffee and that’s enough for me, I’m not hungry for a few hours after waking up. Always been that way.
