Spotify has been pissing me off recently. Repeated pop up (internal) ads, and now this. Are there any alternatives that don’t require selfhosting?

I was going to suggest revanced, but it looks like a DMCA killed that and no replacement has been made.
I use Apple Music on my phone and YouTube Music in my car and they work fine for me. No ads and so far nothing AI. YMMV.

I don’t think that’s possible since this is a YouTube Music client rather than a Spotify one.

I’m sorry, didn’t see if it got a widget. Anyway there’s Metrolist (which is basically a fork (the same app but modified)) that got 4 widgets.

Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have discovered regional pricing.
It’s bigger so they can show far more things for you to click on.
Except there are actually fewer things it shows. The previous track button is missing, for one
