I am sorry but i must strongly dissagree. It is very likely that she is at the forfront of a genocide against transgender people. Is she killing us directly? No. But she is doing incredible harm to us. Please try to be less flippant.
I don’t want to discard what she is doing of course. But i am concerned with the hyperboly expressed in this thread, she is not enacting a literal genocide, as in, actively trying to exterminate humans wholesale for who they are. She is not in political power, working towards that very goal.

I’m beginning to think so many successful writers are terrible people because it must help them write a wider range and depth of characters. Lovecraft was so paranoid/hateful about anyone different than him, Charles Dickens hated his wife and kids, and now we have Rowling.

yeah but two of those authors at least used their trauma to write good and interesting stories.
rowling just got lucky with the right kinda story at the right time getting popular in the right kinda country that could throw immense wealth at it. There’re hundreds of other realistic fiction YA novels that are certainly better than HP and way less problematic, but unfortunately the one written by a hater on a crusade soaks up a majority of the attention.
Oh, more than fair. I adore several authors more than Rowling, but it did capture my 7ish year old imagination at the time.

You know, what’s really interesting is the JD Vance and Lindsay Graham angle on this. These people really have a public gay/transphobia because of something much deeper.
