I’ve been reading Finkelstein’s book about Gaza, and it’s really struck me pretty hard how the major difference between the situation 20 years ago and now is how the media landscape has changed. It’s pretty clear to me that all the bluster about children on social media and ID verification is just an attempt to return to those days.
Not sure I see the civilizations picture democratically voting altogether against our interests is supposed to be a healthy relationship between citizen and government?
Their governments, sure. Not the people. We can see the truth.
It used to be a lot harder to see the truth, when corporate and government media were all most people had access to.
They really don’t like it when they lose control of the narrative on social media.
