in case somebody asks, i’m gonna say it’s because of the heat. it’s more difficult to cool down if one has more hair.

    I got an IPL. A few stray thick hairs show up here and there that are too light for it, but mostly got rid of it. So nice!

      which one did you get, and how long did it take before stuff was mostly gone? a friend of mine just ordered a bunch of PCBs for DIY electrolysis machines and i’m gonna be getting one, but i’m considering doing a few rounds of laser/IPL beforehand to quickly get rid of the easy hairs

        I got a cheap one on Amazon. Doubt it even exists anymore. Took several months of treatments every few days. It at least got rid of the dark, thick ones on my legs, arms, and chest.

        I also have an electrolysis machine, but it’s extremely tedious and way more pain and I can only use it on places I can see well and use one hand to stretch the skin and one to hold the device. So it doesn’t work well for arms or butt or back of the legs, etc. I’m also hesitant to use electrolysis on my face since the pain can be intense, especially around the nostrils and lips, and the unsightly welts are no fun. But it has helped a lot with leftovers on the legs, around the nipples, etc. And the insulated Ballet needles help a lot to reduce the pain.

        For the face I did professional electrolysis for about 6 months, once a week. And that got a lot of it, but still have some thick, light colored hair that I need to get treated again some day.

    cactus 🌵 legs I dislike cactus feeling enough to avoid shaving ever because it takes over a week of cactus mode to go back to normal after the hair grows a bit after shaving. And it’s the hairs themselves, not my skin, that is being sharp.
