Greece is a beautiful country with some of the worst politics I’ve ever heard of. It’s top of my wishlist for places to visit but every article I see about it is how the Christians have taken more power and want to ban women from coffee shops or something stupid.

I’ve been to greece a couple of times.

pretty much: beautiful country and absolutely horrid public decision making on every level imaginable - not quite because of religion. idk what it is. likely corruption + not caring at all about nature, people or efficiency.

From Greek acquaintances of mine I think this isn’t religion but rather the Greek version of the identitarian performative politics so commonly used almost everywhere nowadays to distract people from just who thoroughly corrupt politics has become and how incredibly bad countries are managed nowadays when outcomes are measured in terms of median quality of life.

Subreddit Rules

Keep It European

Memes should be relevant to Europe, Europeans, or European culture. Off-topic memes will be removed.

No Hate Speech or Bigotry

Racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other forms of hate speech are strictly prohibited. Satire is welcome, but not at the expense of marginalized groups.

No Spam or Self-Promotion

Don’t flood the sub with your own content or links. Participate genuinely.

English Preferred, but Multilingual Welcome

While English is the main language, memes in other European languages are allowed if the humor is clear or a translation is provided.

Be Kind and Constructive

Disagreements happen, but keep discussions civil. Personal attacks, trolling, or harassment will result in bans.
