Are you telling me that my Sugar Frosted Cocoa Puffs aren’t really a part of a nutritional breakfast?

      Refined processed sugar is bad.

You do need sugar to live though. Your brain runs on sugar as does the rest of your body.

You can live 100% without sugar if you so like, the liver can synthesize all the brain’s glucose needs, and cells need ATP, not sugar molecules.

That said, it won’t kill you to eat an apple 😊

You can live without a lot of things. The modern diet is proof that humans can survive as basically garbage disposals lol. Doesn’t mean it’s the best thing for you.

Sure without sugar you can go into ketosis, but that’s not what your body wants to do. And we do tend to eat too much sugar in general. It’s added to everything for no good reason.

Whole fruits should be a larger part of the diet, and processed carbs like breads and refined sugar should ideally be minimal. And people in general need to cut the sweet tooth and get used to foods tasting like food and not packed full of sugar.

You mean ketones instead of glucose? No, that is very bad for your cells and brain. Dietary refined sugar has no relation to the general concept of carbohydrates.

Trouble is, it’s everywhere. There’s sugar in ham for goodness’ sake. And it’s bloody addictive, good luck trying to kick a habit when you’re required to have a little bit of it to survive.

I might have my conspiracy theorist hat on but I’m starting to think the whole sugar everywhere thing isn’t an accident, manufacturers engineer food to make it so people will crave it, thus buying more and padding their profits. It also helps making cheap ingredients more palatable to reduce costs and increase profits.

It’s not hard to avoid if you buy raw ingredients and cook your own meals, make your own sauces, etc. I did it when I was cooking for rats. But the downside is, you have to make all your own food.

“We also found that even in adulthood, they continued to consume less sugar and had healthier diets overall.”
