Because the majority of voters now get their information from TikTok, Facebook, and X… and ALL of these platforms are owned by supporters of dictatorships who would love to destroy the EU.
If you allow the enemy (to put it bluntly, but that’s how these people see us) to spread propaganda among your own population, you shouldn’t be surprised when people are elected who can’t even decide which dictatorship they want to sell the citizens to first.

Yes and no. Same thing with all right-wing parties. They’re looking at regions that are mostly white, high unemployment, older population. And then blaming all their woes on the incumbent and immigrants. Which to be fair regarding their woes - the Christian Democratic Union (ruling party) of Germany really overlooked that region for decades, the immigrant angle is just racism like you said.
legit their woes are real even if I’m mixed on how much is self inflicted by sheer stubborn will refusing to accept reality
political parties chasing money instead of helping their voters is a real problem but I wonder how much these people would thank politicians for fixing problems in any way that isn’t reverting everything 50 years
