It’s not one thing, it’s multiple things together.
Cold is okay alone, but add wind and/or rain and cold sucks.
Heat is okay without humidity, and as long as it still gets cool at night for a break. Heat with wind and/or rain is okay, but heat with wind and dust sucks. Dust always sucks.
It’s coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere
But the rain is one of the best parts
I am still on summer side. But if one happens to want to die and chooses between heat and cold, then cold is the better option
Don’t have to shovel heat.
Don’t have to mow, rake, weed whack, or trim the cold
We’ve had those temps, and sweating all day with AC unit running sucks. I’d much rather put on a sweater if I feel chilly in the Winter.
It doesn’t typically snow enough to shovel where I live
early-mid fall is the best season, not too hot or cold
I can put on 3 layers of clothes but i cannot take off my skin to get cooler
It’s also easier to add heat in a room than to remove it in my exp
“Can only get so naked” is my go to also
I just really hate cold weather and short days. My body is better at staying cool than warm. When you ask people what they like about winter they always say sweaters and fires, being warm. I like doing that without gear.
Winter can suck my dick. Getting through winter with myotonia sucks ass
Summer can suck my dick. Getting through summer with hyperhydrosis sucks ass.
Ha!

When its 0°K and some mf says winter is better than summer.
K does not use °, when will people learn?
Used to be correct until 1967
I can always put on another layer. I can only get so naked.
At least then it’s still OK.
If it gets too cold I can bundle up. If it gets too hot theres only so many clothes I can take off before that bitch Brenda goes to H.R.
See, my problem is that being too hot is just uncomfortable to me but being too cold is physically painful no matter how many layers I put on.
Fuck Brenda.
I mean, I’d rather not.
do you not have aircons?
Air conditioning is uncommon in homes in Northern Europe.
Not only is it uncommon, our buildings are generally not set up for convenient installation of AC - window units are not compatible with our window types - nor have we put any effort into optimizing for keeping our homes cool, since the primary challenge we face is keeping our homes sufficiently hot for the vast majority of the year.
Retrofitting all homes to cope with our new climate reality is going to be an immensely expensive endeavour.
Also, mold. Our houses insulation often has trouble with active cooling.
Swede here, in my 38 years, I have only been in one home here with AC.
This summer me and my dad travelled down to the south of Germany to fly an airship, and to visit Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, it was over 35C just about every day and only one hotel we stayed in had AC.
Europe does not have AC at home for the most part.
Offices is another thing completely though.
Only airpros
Technically people should hate me most cause i offend everyone. I like very continental climates so both hot summers and cold winters, i just like seeing the seasons and the smell in the air change, having a dip in a cold lake or sea during summer, having the perfect weather for outdoor activites during fall, being able to ski, build snowmen, chill inside during winter, etc. I know i have bias cause i was born somewhere where the climate is like this but i just love it. Everyone has their preferences.
Two words. Seasonal depression. You don’t get that in the summer.
Come live in the hellscape of Texas. You cannot go outside from late may until mid October. It was 103F+ from mid July until 3 days ago. I paid almost $700 for my electric bill last month. The house is stale and hasn’t had fresh air in months. I have a huge list of projects that I very much want to make progress on, but ten minutes outside takes me multiple hours to recover from. The temperature in the parking lot in front of the grocery store was above 120F a few days ago.
Seasonal depression occurs in the cursed summer here. As soon as my family members pass on, I will never return to this god forsaken, scorched wasteland.
You don’t get that in the summer.
I get it only in summer
I am thoroughly depressed all summer. The first cooler, shorter day I’m like a happy new person. I’m a redhead and can easily get sick being in the sun. Fuck summer, bring on the cooler, shorter, stormier days and I’m all in for snowball fights, sledding, soups, sweaters, cozy fires, and a good scotch.
If you don’t have an AC, you very much do
The sunlight makes up for it. Having like 6 hours of real sunlight fucking sucks. I also hate having to put on like six layers to take out the garbage without having the air hurt my skin
Seasonal heatstroke
Autumn and spring are better than both. Both of the extremes are getting less fun every year.
I don’t like it when it’s so hot I want to take off my skin
I also don’t like it when it’s so cold I have to somehow instantly magic another 4 layers on/off me when walking through a door to not freeze/sweat to death.
Give me comfortable 2 layer weather where I can wear the same thing indoors and outdoors and feel fine
Yes, and if there was a way to magically make seasonal allergies go away for good, I’d get a couple more months of comfort every year.
Allergy shots
I stand by it. Summer IS better than winter
What do you like about summers?
No flu, no sickness (maybe once), no runny nose, no stiff joints, wanting to actually do stuff, having more productive time to do stuff, being able to go into nature and hang out all the time.
Winters are absolutely depressing and miserable.
Sitting on a patio drinking beers, or swimming comfortably in a lake when camping
Seeing the sun, not having the air be so cold that any exposed skin hurts, air that isn’t so dry I feel like I’m suffocating, grocery runs not feeling like a trek through the Antarctic
Rather a bit sweaty in summer than physical pain in winter
I feel like “bit sweaty” is not an accurate enough description of a summer heatwave
Depends what you’re doing, sitting down in the shade I dont mind the heat, walking to get in a hot car I hate
Rather a layer more than being uncomfortable hot.
Yeah, cold is easy to solve, cooling down isn’t .
My stats for number of activities in cycling and running gives away my preference, but the winters gets rough in Scandinavia.
