Honestly I would take any form that’s younger, healthier and more attractive than I am right now. Completely regardless of gender. I’m not trans I simply… don’t care about that? I think I might have a very slight preference for a male body, if only to avoid monthly cramping…

Sometimes it’s not an egg, just a person who’s not happy with how hard it is to build an attractive body or their age, or with the decisions they made in the past that have left actual scars.

Honestly, best case scenario would be shapeshifting, just to satisfy my curiosity about how the world would feel and how it would act towards me as another gender/ethnicity/species. I’d love to fly as a bird.

Not sure. I think I’m a straight cis dude, but… To quote Gianmarco Soresi: “I’m not gay, but I’m definitely something, like me and Joe Rogan should not exist in the same box.”

Being manly (for non-toxic definitions of manly) makes me happy. And were I a woman, I think I’d like to be sometimes a tomboy (different from masculine imho) and sometimes extremely girly. The thing is I would not enjoy to be seen as “girly” now and I think I would not enjoy to be seen as “manly” then. I think I’m happy with my gender expression matching my gender. With expressing A gender, I just don’t really care about which gender lies beneath.

Is there such a thing as a binary agender? Because I’m decidedly not non-binary. Expressing A gender enriches my life a lot.

Though since I have never been a woman, I can not honestly say that I would feel no dysphoria.

Edit: no, thinking about it, I’d be more at home being a tomboy. Dressing up all girly would be more about finding someone to rail me like there’s no tomorrow than to please myself. I think it might just be easier finding a dominant partner as a woman and I think that’s what the appeal is for girly. Finding a dominant women while being a guy would absolutely be preferable.

You have to respect that people are comfortable enough with themselves that they don’t feel the need to change, but still would if they could just instantly morph into a form they would be even more comfortable with.

I mean, yeah, sure, that is possible, but in the case of trans women, being numb to your own dysphoria is an extremely common experience.

Not everyone has it, and euphoria is enough to want to transition, but good god, there’s so fucking many stories of girls going through the “I didn’t know I was miserable, but there were signs” phase.

Yup. Never felt dysphoria actively until after I put my picture into a genderswap app. I pretty much immediately started crying, instant egg crack and I didn’t even know I was an egg until it cracked. Since then I’ve gotten more and more dysphoric. I didn’t used to be upset about being bald but my affinity for hats makes a lot more sense. That pretty well across the whole board in every aspect and I’m so angry it took me so long to find out, as my chances of ever passing anymore are pretty low now, and I keep seeing more and more signs the further back I look.

It’s (afaik) the original cover for one of The Culture novels by Iain M. Banks. It depicts an interstellar ship that is basically the size of a small country and can house as many people. It’s controlled by, and essentially is, a “Mind” which is that worlds term for A.I., but like actual A.I., not whatever the hell the venture capitalists are pushing today.

It’s also the source of the term Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism.

The cool part about Greek, is that we have words for attractions not related to your gender: gynephilia, androphilia, ambiphilia, panphilia, etc…
Zappyz_ would noticed faster if she had conceptualized:

Ok I’m gynephilic but I would totally change my gender if I could look like this

Cis isn’t a sexuality. Gender-independent words for attraction are great for solving other problems (e.g. you could entirely correctly say about Elliot Page that “he came out as a lesbian”), but they don’t change anything for OOP going from identifying as a straight cis man to a gay trans woman.

I’m not sure where that user ever said she was attracted to women or femininity. There is a good chance she is considering the character, but it’s not part of the post at all.

“Cis” here is implying Zappyz_ likes girls. She was confused why would she still like girls even if she didn’t notices her “egg” sign. Marceline Abadeer has been in a sapphic relationship with Bubblegum Princess before Phil even mets Marceline.

Unless we assume that “cis” somehow has any bearing on sexuality, the user doesn’t talk about attraction at all in this post. For all we know, this user is ace and just digs the vibe. From this post alone, we don’t even know if they use she/her pronouns! You’re adding so much meaning and making so many assumptions that it honestly feels like you’re baiting a response.

I only read “cis” here as “I believe I am heterosexual but”. I am being genuine in my observation. Zappyz_ goes by “she/her”:

it honestly feels like you’re baiting a response.

Why would want to even do this in a safe community like this one? Did someone maliciously reported me 🧵 or something? I read posts&comments in good faith here as a safe/c/.

Cis referring to sexuality makes less sense when she expressed wanting to look like somebody. It makes more sense for her to be talking about gender, especially when “cis” usually isn’t shorthand for sexuality. That said, I didn’t notice the symbol in her username, so for that I apologize.

As far as you commenting in bad faith goes, you’ve had comments removed on 196 for being combative while claiming to be jovial, resulting in you accusing us of being power tripping bastards. It indicated to me that you were either exceptionally stubborn and unwilling to consider others’ perspectives, or that you engage in bad faith arguments. Either way, you aren’t worth arguing with.

sure, that was indeed a clue. But this is about interpreting what “cis” here meant to Zappyz_ then. Knowing + using Greek allows me at the least the separation of attractiveness to be completely be divorced from gender, and pronouns. We don’t truly know both how “cis” could have been used here, and @TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone wants me to also be aware it could be used differently than meaning “heterosexual.” Which is cool. I just think that if “-philia” was more commonly used in other languages, people would see their “egg” signs more faster.
I am quotating “egg” because Greek & Asian languages use different terms for trans “awakening awareness.”

We don’t truly know both how “cis” could have been used here

We don’t technically know how any word is being used here, but without evidence to the contrary, it’s reasonable to assume that they’re being used according to their accepted definitions.

We don’t truly know both how “cis” could have been used here, and @TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone wants me to also be aware it could be used differently than meaning “heterosexual.”

Not just “could”. That implies that both are correct and common. Using “cis” to refer to sexuality is an error, and a pretty rare one at that. I’ve seen it only a handful of times. Confusing “straight” with “both heterosexual and cisgender” is more common, but that’s in the opposite direction and mostly restricted to people who think that “cis” is a slur and would never refer to themselves as such in my experience.
